Inspired by my friend who discovered a love for homebrewing, fermentation, and microbiomes, I helped bring her dream product brand to life. Fermenthead is a probiotic beverage brand made from kefir. I gathered images that conjured up feelings of playfulness and curiosity. The 1960’s turbulent style of posters were a prominent source of inspiration - especially the bright, jarring colors and the warped, organic typography. I began with several sans serif fonts and to based the logotype on Gopher, a font family designed by Adam Ladd. The final result is a unique geometric sans serif font that reverses contrast of the typical thick & thins of letterforms complimenting the psychedelic feeling of the brand.
